Initial Resettlement Tasks
The Refugee Resettlement Agency is responsible for providing the basic essentials for newly arrived refugees. Within 90 days of a refugee's arrival the agency provides the following:
- Safe and Clean Housing and Furnishings
- Initial Intake Interview
- Cultural Orientation with the Family
- Transportation to medical and state benefits appointments
- Apply for Social Security cards
- Establish Resettlement and Employment Plans
- English as a Second Language services
- Immunizations Appointments
- School Enrollment
- Employment Services
Community Assistance
- Additional Cultural Orientations
- Goods and Services where Possible
- Continuing Cultural Adjustment
- Education and Support
- Communication with Resettlement Agency
- Establish Resettlement and Employment Plans
