How You Can Help
Those born abroad who come to the United States as refugees and immigrants bring talent and diversity that enriches our communities and strengthens our nation. You can be an active participant in welcoming these newcomers and helping them succeed as aspiring new Americans. You can make a difference in their well-being and prosperity, and of the community you share.
Since 1997, the Southern Sudan Community Association has benefited from financial and material support provided by individuals, organizations, foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Today we need your support more than ever as our programs and services try to respond to the many challenges and needs facing the refugee community throughout the world.
There are many different ways that you can play an essential role in serving the needs of refugees. Here are just a few:
- Co-Sponsor/Adopt a family
- Become a mentor
- Home set-ups
- Assist with English Language skills
- Make a financial contribution
- Make in-kind donations
- Join us in our public education and advocacy efforts
- Tell friends or colleagues about what we do
Please consider helping us make a "better life" for both our current and newly arriving refugees that come to us from different cultures.
