English as a Second Language
English is the key
The largest challenge faced by refugees is the language barrier. Without the ability to read, write, and speak English, refugees cannot communicate with teachers, doctors, or anyone else for that matter. They will have difficulty obtaining a job or moving beyond entry level positions due to the lack of English speaking ability.
SSCA provides English as Second Language Classes (ESL) to help refugees improve their communication with others and to further their education. Classes are only offered at the main location:
Southern Sudan Community Association
3610 Dodge Street Suite 100
Omaha, Nebraska 68131

- Monday, 9:30am - 11:30am
- Wednesday, 9:30am - 11:30am
- Friday, 9:30am - 11:30am
